Sunoco National Tour PR- (July 25, 2010)

Under the Hood with the Sunoco National Tour and ASA Late Model Series will have the winning driver from this weekend’s racing action at Rockford Speedway on the show this week. Hometown hero, Ryan Carlson will stop by in our ADP Rivet driver spotlight to talk about winning his first touring series event at his home track. This was Carlson’s second career ASA Late Model Series victory, but this one was the biggest of his career.

This win was special to Carlson for more reasons than one. In 2009 during the All Star 100 at Rockford Speedway, Carlson was involved in a frightening crash with a lapped car that sent him airborne into the billboards. The car came crashing back down to the pavement, breaking his back. The injury sidelined Carlson for quite some time, and this was his first victory after the injury.

We will also hear some audio clips from the second and third place finishers at Rockford. Eddie Hoffman came home in second, and had a chance to move Carlson more than once, but opted not to. You will hear his comments about finishing second. Jesse Saunders was the AR Bodies Fast Qualifier during time trials, and come home with a third place finish. You will also hear Jesse talk about his race at Rockford.
